Professor Katarzyna Jasikowska works in the Institute of Sociology, Jagiellonian University in Krakow; a climate activist of the bottom-up initiative klimatUJ whose website reads: ‘We are people associated with the Jagiellonian University, not agreeing to further underestimate the seriousness of the climate and ecological crisis. Together, we are building an academic social movement and working for climate justice’; elected coordinator of the first ever Climate Council of the Jagiellonian University established thanks to the petition and efforts of klimatUJ; member of the UN Global Compact Network Poland Climate Council and the Council of the Climate Education Foundation. Katarzyna Jasikowska co-edited with Michał Pałasz a book nominated in 2023 for the Marcin Król Award granted by the Batory Foundation entitled: „Tick-tock, the end of the world: climate-ecological crisis in the voice of multiple sciences”.
