Fiona Skinner

Position: Industrial Decarbonisation Initiative, United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO)

She is an Industrial Development Expert within the Energy Systems and Industrial Decarbonization Unit at UNIDO. She coordinates the Clean Energy Ministerial’s Industrial Deep Decarbonisation Initiative (CEM-IDDI), which is global coalition of public and private organizations working to stimulate demand for low carbon steel, cement and concrete by driving the standardization of definitions, emissions measurement methodologies, and ambitious public and private sector procurement targets.

Prior to joining UNIDO in 2021, Fiona worked in management consulting for over seven years, in which she provided strategic advisory services in support of clients exploring renewable energy development opportunities in Europe and Central Asia, as well as energy efficiency program evaluation, market characterization and research. Fiona holds a Master’s degree in International Economics and International Relations from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) as well as a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Cambridge.
