Dorota Zawadzka-Stępniak is a graduate of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering at Warsaw University of Technology and holds a postgraduate degree in EU Funds Administration from SGH Warsaw School of Economics.
She has extensive experience in environmental protection, climate change and energy policy, which she has successfully applied throughout her professional career in senior management positions in public institutions, including the Ministry of the Environment and the Warsaw Municipal Office, as well as in the private sector, including PwC and the Lewiatan Confederation. She was professionally associated with the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW) in 2014–2015, when she served as Vice-President of the Management Board and oversaw activities related to the financial support of climate and air protection projects.
She is a scholarship recipient of the Prof. Maciej Nowicki Foundation and the German Federal Environmental Foundation (Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt), awarded to outstanding graduates of environmental protection-related fields. She is also a graduate of the 29th School of Political Leaders and the Game Changers Academy Master of Business Change, a comprehensive year-long leadership programme focused on strengthening change management skills and managerial self-awareness. In 2026, she was included in the Forbes Women Poland “25 Women in Energy” list.
