Business PRECOP

A conference leading up to the UN global environmental summits

The fifth edition of the Business PRECOP conference will take place from 30 September to 1 October 2026 at the International Congress Centre in Katowice.

This year, for the first time, the event will be held under the name Business PRECOP, which further emphasises the role of business, investment and the economy in the process of environmental transformation. The conference is organised by the PTWP Group and UN Global Compact Network Poland.

Business PRECOP is one of the largest conferences dedicated to climate and environmental transformation in Central Europe, preparing participants for the upcoming UN global negotiations, in particular the COP31 Climate Summit (UN Climate Change Conference), which will take place from 9 to 20 November 2026 in Antalya, Turkey.

The conference provides a forum for dialogue between business, public administration, international organisations, the academic community and civil society on how to translate global environmental goals into concrete investment decisions, corporate strategies and the development of cities and regions.

The event programme relates to three key UN negotiation processes concerning the future of the planet: the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), whose most important decision-making forums are the annual Conferences of the Parties (COPs). Business PRECOP demonstrates how global goals and agreements negotiated within the UN framework translate into business decisions, corporate strategies, investments and the development of cities and regions.

The conference programme will include discussions on, amongst other things, the energy transition, financing the green economy, the protection of natural resources, the circular economy, sustainable construction, food and agriculture, and new models for the production and management of raw materials.
