Polish district heating is entering a critical stage of key investment decisions. The direction of the transformation is set by growing regulatory requirements and the first draft of the Strategy for the Transformation of the District Heating System until 2040, but there is no single technology or single decarbonization model. How can we achieve the status of efficient district heating systems, reduce emissions, and at the same time maintain security of supply and acceptable costs for consumers? How can local resources be leveraged, district heating integrated with the power grid, and stable financing for investments ensured? A debate on the future of Polish district heating and practical pathways for its transformation.
