Smeeta Fokeer
Position: Industrial Development Officer at the Climate and Technology Partnership Division (CTP) of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO)
Smeeta Fokeer is an Industrial Development Officer at the Climate and Technology Partnership Division (CTP) of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). During her 12 years with UNIDO, she has been responsible for the development and implementation of projects focused on sustainable industrial development policies and more recently, on how green hydrogen can contribute to sustainable industrial development. She is also involved in related research work and global forum activities on climate technologies and solutions to reach a net zero economy. Prior to joining UNIDO, she worked at Rolls Royce UTC as a research associate, where she was responsible for optimising the aerodynamics properties of new jet engine fuel injector designs relative to their performances in terms of fuel efficiency, pollutants emissions and noise. Smeeta holds a BEng in Environmental Engineering, an MSc in Environmental Management and a PhD in Environmental Fluid Dynamics from the University of Nottingham (UK).
