Olga Rataj, PhD, is an Industrial Development Specialist and Project Manager at UNIDO, leading initiatives on urban decarbonization and circular solutions in city systems in low- and middle-income countries. She has 15 years of international experience across the UN system, government, private sector, and academia. Previously, she worked on sustainable finance, climate innovation, and just energy transitions, mobilizing significant investments and contributing to global policy frameworks. She was a co-author of the Polish Circular Economy Roadmap, combining academic and practical expertise in innovation and sustainable development policy. Olga holds a PhD from UNU-MERIT (United Nations University – Maastricht Economic and Social Research Institute on Innovation and Technology). She publishes in top sustainability journals and serves on the International Energy Agency’s Technology and Innovation Advisory Board.
