About the event

This two-day event, organised by the PTWP Group and the UN Global Compact Network Poland, will provide an international forum for discussion on the climate and the future of the planet.

The fourth edition of PRECOP - Business Summit will take place on 1–2 October 2025 at the International Congress Centre in Katowice.

The event is designed to prepare participants for the upcoming UN Climate Change Conference, COP30, scheduled for 10–21 November 2025 in Belém, Brazil.

This recurring two-day conference, organised by the PTWP Group and UN Global Compact Network Poland, aims to analyse the outcomes of last year’s climate summit (COP29) and to explore key topics expected to shape the debate at COP30 in Brazil.

For the fourth consecutive year, PRECOP - Business Summit will bring together representatives from diverse sectors and industries to discuss the most pressing climate challenges. In the past three editions, the conference gathered around 1,400 in-person participants and 2,500 online attendees each year. More than 30 sessions per edition have featured high-ranking representatives of UN and EU agencies, ambassadors, politicians, former COP presidents, as well as leaders in science and business.

These meetings have resulted in the preparation of the “White Paper” – a publication presenting the Polish perspective on climate issues in advance of the UN climate summits. Each year, this document has accompanied the Polish UN GCNP delegation at COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh, COP28 in Dubai, and COP29 in Baku.

In light of the intensifying effects of climate change – including increasingly frequent and severe heatwaves, droughts and floods – this year’s edition of PRECOP - Business Summit will take a broader perspective. In addition to traditional topics such as CO2 emissions reduction and energy transition, particular emphasis will be placed on climate adaptation, circular economy, sustainable production, and climate finance.

PRECOP - Business Summit 2025 also aims to translate scientific research and global commitments into concrete actions. Participants will share experiences, best practices, and innovative solutions that can be implemented at local, national, and international levels. This year’s agenda will directly address the priorities set for COP30 – particularly biodiversity protection, just transition, and the shift from negotiation to tangible implementation of climate actions. Key topics will also include climate education and awareness, climate transparency and accountability, sustainable economy, and the role of technology in tackling climate change.

In 2025, PRECOP - Business Summit will place strong emphasis on international cooperation. The conference aims to create space for discussion and exchange of experience between international UN agencies, representatives of sustainable business, research institutes, leading Polish universities, and climate-focused NGOs. Speakers will include both Polish and international policymakers shaping climate policy.
