Ata Can Bertay
Position: Member of the Advisory Board, Chapter Zero Türkiye, Sabanci University
Ata Can Bertay is an assistant professor at Sabanci Business School, director of the Corporate Governance Forum of Turkey, and a Chapter Zero Türkiye advisory board member. Previously, he was a Research Economist at the World Bank's Development Economics Research Group (DECRG), leading the Global Financial Development Report (GFDR), a World Bank flagship report on financial development. His research interests include corporate governance, banking, financial economics, and macrofinance.
He received his Ph.D. and MSc in Economics from Tilburg University, the Netherlands, and a B.A. in Economics from Bogazici University, Turkey. From 2010 to 2012, he worked at the World Bank as a Consultant in DECRG. As a visiting researcher, he visited NYU Stern's Department of Finance in 2013 and the Bank of Finland in 2022.
