
Salvatore Capasso

Salvatore Capasso is Director of the Department of Human and Social Sciences, Cultural Heritage at the Italian National Research Council (CNR) and Full Professor of Economic Policy at the University of Naples Parthenope. From 2015 to 2022, he led the CNR Institute of Studies on Mediterranean Societies. He has authored over 150 scientific publications and serves on the boards of several journals. His research focuses on Development Economics, and Monetary and Financial Economics, with particular attention to the underground economy, financial development, corruption, and the economies of Mediterranean countries. He has coordinated numerous national and international projects and been invited as keynote speaker at leading conferences worldwide. He has held visiting positions at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee (USA), the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain), and the University of Manchester (UK), and serves on several national and international scientific councils.
